She wakes in fog, low cloud, confusion,
And rejecting the unknowable
Goes back to bed.
And yet, just a week ago,
The sky was clear
Her star shone out,
Illuminating an entire evening
With light, and song and laughter
As startling as if it were
The star of Bethlehem so
everyone is still talking of it today.
Remember this,
she is no burnt out supernova,
Doomed to fade now without reprieve,
The fog can go just as it comes
And that bright star can shine again.
